One Rainy Afternoon at the Lakehouse

The rain hammers on the roof
as the thought of you in my mind.
Coming so vivid, trying to embraceme
and keep me warm.Your smile all around me…
persuading me with your gentle words.
I hardly resist those, cheerful, angelic, almond eyes
That speak thy soul. Together,we are drowned
in the sound of the pouring rain.
Our laughter, reverberating to the edge of the earth,
in a split second,Two no more as the smoldering flame
turns to a burning desire. Now stops the rain
and we hear ourselves humming a lullaby
that soothes our very heart.
